Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting fresh meat efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate different types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries. The Driver will play a crucial part in maintaining our company’s reputation for punctuality and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Safely operate company vehicles for the delivery of goods to clients and warehouses.
• Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to legal driving hours and safety regulations.
• Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintenance teams.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
• Assist with warehouse duties when required, including organising stock and preparing goods for dispatch.
• Follow all health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, with a strong understanding of driving regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence suitable for operating 3.5 tonne van drivers’ licences preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs or report faults effectively.
• Experience working in warehouse environments is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise professionally with clients, colleagues, and dispatch teams.
• Familiarity with flatbed transportation methods and securing loads safely during transit.
• Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or traffic conditions.
