    Purpose of the Role


    To undertake the safe and efficient driving and operation of trains as directed on weekly roster and diagrams.

    Person Specification

    Essential:

    • The successful candidate will be UK mobile.
    • Be flexible, honest & punctual – Able to work weekends, bank holidays and a mixture of days and nights as part of a 24/7 shift-based roster.
    • Willingness to stay away from home (at company expense) when required.
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Windows packages such as Word and Outlook.
    • Have a Full UK Driving Licence.
    • Psychometric pass – This can be assessed throughout the recruitment process and is a necessary requirement for all train drivers according to industry standards.
    • The successful candidate should be adept at following processes and procedures safely without requiring direct supervision.
    • Have a positive, attitude and thrive in a busy and pressurised environment.
    • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Motivated to learn and develop and maximise personal contribution to the business.
    • Ideally have previous experience within the rail industry.
    • Ideally hold existing PTS certification.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    How will you contribute?

    • Daily loading of the vehicle at the designated company depot following all operational procedures and health & safety guidelines.
    • Deliveries to customers locations delivering bulk liquid and IBC’s

  • Courier Driver

    Pay: £12.21 Per Hour

    The role will require excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards. Using electronic and paper-based forms of recording tasks and items delivered and collected, making sure that all courier tasks are carried out correctly and to scheduled times. The role may involve heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, using a tail lift and loading/unloading and moving of Roll cages.

    The role will be driving vehicles from small vans and up to 3.5 tonne Luton vans, these can be driven on the category B part of the UK driving licence.


    This role is a full time role, working 5 days out of 7 (times are anywhere between 07:00-18:00, 40hrs pw)

  • Porter/Driver 

    Salary: £26,000 – £28,000

    The post holder will provide a Portering and Transport service to the wards and departments of the Royal Alexandra Hospital and to other Greater Glasgow & Clyde sites and locations.

    The post holder will report to the Support Services Manager through the Portering Transport Supervisors and the Assistant Portering & Transport Manager.

    The post holder will work within clearly defined protocols, procedures and schedules, adhering to all Board policies e.g. Health & Safety, Control of Infection and Confidentiality.

    After initial induction and training, the post holder will work under the Portering & Transport Supervisors, who will also provide guidance and support. The post holder will have a Personal Development Plan.
