    What will you be doing as a Van Driver?

    • Driving a 3.5 Tonne Van in a safe manner, complying with all road traffic, and vehicle legislation
    • Performing vehicle checks at the beginning and end of each journey and reporting all defects
    • Ensuring the vehicle and stock are properly always secured

    Relevant skills and experience as a Van Driver:

    • This is a physically demanding role including lifting and shifting – essential that you are physically able to lift items
    • Valid in-date driving license
    • No more than 6 points on driving license
    • Previous experience in a multi drop role would be advantageous but not essential
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential
    • DBS security check will be completed on the successful candidate

  • Customer Delivery Driver 

    Pay: £13.35 – £14.56

    Its hands on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are ever the same and our customer’s look for help in all kinds of different ways. For most of the day you’ll feel like your own boss, delivering to your customers but there is always a team of Managers and colleagues back at base ready to support you when you need them.

    Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by:

    • I ensure the van and trays I use are clean and kept tidy/organised.
    • Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as I see it.
    • Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.Â
    • Loading the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
    • Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including short code item and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
    • Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
    • Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
    • Delivering during the customers time slot.
    • Calling the customer before arriving at their property if early.
    • Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.

    You will need

    About the role, what will I be doing?

    • Ensuring the security and comfort of our guests and the owner at all times.
    • The limousines are operated with the utmost safety and without speeding or reckless driving.
    • The limousines are operated to ensure optimal fuel efficiencies.
    • The hotel’s vehicles are always immaculately presented and maintained.
    • To always be at the owner’s disposal.
    • Ensure that the Image of the Hotel is well maintained when in road traffic.
    • Respect guests’ presence when interacting with other colleagues.
    • Ascertain if guests would like to listen to the radio.
    • Ensure standard amenities (water still, sparkling, chilled and room temperature).
    • Ensure you report to the Executive Head of Concierge or any Senior Manager of any minor or major accidents during the process of driving or any other event.
    • Ensure all vehicles are in safe, clean and well-maintained driving conditions.
    • To carry out any reasonable tasks and duties given by the owner or senior management on the owner’s behalf.

  • Trainee Train Driver

    Salary: £45,551

    To be eligible for a role as a trainee driver, you must:

    • Be able to commit to completing the Level 3 Train Driver Apprenticeship programme.
    • Be able to work shifts including weekends and nights.
    • Live within 60 minutes of Holyhead depot and be able to make your own way into the depot at all times, including when public transport is not available.
    • Be able to provide an excellent service for our customers.
    • Be able to follow safety critical instructions.
    • Be able to comply with the company’s Drugs and Alcohol Policy, Rules, and Procedures
    • Be happy to wear your uniform with pride and to Avanti West Coast Standards

    To be successful you must:

    Salary = £66,343.68 per annum

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform regular vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness
    • Ensuring trailers temperatures are set correctly
    • Adhere to all traffic laws and road safety regulations
    • Ensure compliance with Tachograph and Road Transport Directive Legislation
    • Deliver products to Sainsbury stores and supplier collections in a timely and professional manner throughout the Southeast region including London.
    • Work as trained and in line with Risk Assessments during your duties
    • Ensuring the internal and external cleanliness of the vehicle is maintained at all times
    • Report any incidents, delays, or vehicle defects promptly
    • Report any health and safety concerns or near-miss incidents
    • Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.

    What you will bring to the team:

    A day in the life of an LGV Driver

    • Safely and efficiently operate HGV vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products while adhering to delivery schedules.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure roadworthiness.
    • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour.
    • Loading and unloading goods.
    • Completing paperwork and documentation.
    • Ensuring that all necessary safety regulations are followed.
    • Working as part of a team to deliver the best quality service.


    What will make you successful?

    • Full HGV C+E (class1) licence – preferably clean.
    • Digital Tacho and Driver Qualification Cards.
    • Strong knowledge of Drivers hours, regulations, and Working time directive.
    • Excellent geographical knowledge and ability to navigate efficiently using GPS and other navigation tools.
    • Ideally previous experience in a customer facing driving role (not essential).
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
    • Ability to effectively navigate common IT systems, applications, and platforms.
