    North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic experienced Driver to join the existing Transport & Logistics team (non-patient facing).

    The role is based out of our site in Fulwood Preston. This role is for an experienced driver for all areas of the Trusts footprint (5,400 square miles) delivering/collecting samples, stock, parcels, letters stock receipt, stock accounting etc etc, therefore a valid clean driving license for use in the UK is required with demonstrable experience

    The successful candidate will be a natural team player but must be able to work with a minimum of supervision using their own initiative particularly when solo working. The ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the Trust (including the public) is essential; they must be confident and tolerant of dealing with queries from internal/external customers. Candidates must have competent administration skills and attention to detail when using the Trust system(s).

    This is a physical role, and the successful applicant will have to be fit and able to complete physical tasks on a day-to-day basis. Such tasks will be lifting, carrying stock (bulky), stock taking and accountancy and stock rotation.

    Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
    We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

    Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

    We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

    About the role

    As a Parts Delivery Driver for Arnold Clark, you will carry out multi-drop deliveries to branches and independent motor traders. As well as driving safely and delivering on time, you’ll also be responsible for collecting cash from customers and passing it back to the relevant branches.

    The ideal candidate will be physically able to handle some heavy lifting and must be able to work well as part of a team. Some degree of flexibility is also required to occasionally provide holiday cover for other drivers.

    Day-to-day duties

    Carrying out deliveries to trade customers and Arnold Clark branches
    Driving safely and representing the company in a professional manner at all times
    Collecting cash sales and returning them to the correct branch
    Carrying out regular van maintenance checks
    Lifting heavy vehicle components

  • Clinical Logistics Delivery Driver

    Salary£31,778.24 per annum

    By joining us at Sciensus as a ‘clinical logistics delivery driver’ you will not only be out on the road doing what you love, you will also be the face of the business and have increased job satisfaction by knowing you have enhanced the patient journey.

    You will be part of a small dedicated team, that report into our Avonmouth Depot, who are responsible for the safe movement and delivery of much needed medication, you will be the bridge between the patients and their treatment, making a positive impact every day!!

    This is a full-time position working 48hrs per week, 5 days out 6, with shifts between the hours of 5am – 8pm. A typical day will see you delivering between 20 – 50 life changing medicines to patients within the Antrim and surrounding areas.
