As one of our Home Delivery Drivers, you’ll be the special ingredient that delivers everything our online customers shopped at Sainsbury’s for.

    Eligibility:

    • You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
    • You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us
    • You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in a great condition
    • Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
    • Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays
    • Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
    • When not out making deliveries, you will be helping across the store as needed

    Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

    It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

    The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you’re available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you.     Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by:

    • I ensure the van and trays I use are clean and kept tidy/organised.
    • Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as I see it.
    • Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
    • Loading the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
    • Talking to the customer about any changes to their order, including short code item and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
    • Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
    • Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
    • Delivering during the customers time slot.
    • Calling the customer before arriving at their property if early.
    • Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.

    You will need

    • Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to make sure our store is the best it can be for customers.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Check, load, and deliver customer orders on predetermined routes utilising Asset Tracking Devices.
    • Ensure products are transported under correct conditions, maintaining temperature, cleanliness, and security.
    • Represent the company professionally as a visible face to customers and the public.
    • Carry out all required safety checks on your allocated vehicle and equipment.

    In this role you will be required to stand and walk for the majority of your shift, as well as needing to be able to lift (products up to 15kg), bend, twist, kneel, and crouch.

    • Full Driving Licence, valid in the UK.
    • Proven multi-drop driving experience.
    • Experience using hand-held devices for proof of delivery.

    Key Role Responsibilities

    We don’t micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches – but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

    You’ll make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you – at others, you’ll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

    You’ll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.

    You will make sure everything is ‘right first time’ for your customers, both internal and external, and as a great communicator, you’ll work hard to keep customers happy, making sure any queries you can’t answer, are passed on to your site manager quickly.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Class 1 Driving licence as a minimum
    • Driver CPC qualification card
    • Completed required DCPC training hours or be working towards them
    • Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws – and commitment to safe use of the roads

  • Driver – Swindon Parts Plus

    Salary: £27k

    Allen Motor Group are looking to recruit a Driver for our Parts Plus Centre in Swindon. You will be working to an efficient schedule whilst providing excellent customer service. This position is offered on a full time, 42.5 hour a week contract, Monday – Friday & 1 in 2 Saturday AM’s paying £26,984 per annum and reports to the Centre Manager.
