  • Home Delivery Driver

    Pay: £14.60 Per hour 

    We understand that success is achieved through our people, and we are searching for a Home Delivery Driver to join our team.

    Purpose

    We’re hiring Home Delivery Drivers who take pride in providing excellent service & enjoy being out on the road. In this role you’ll be delivering shopping & connecting directly with customers as the face of Iceland.

    In this role you can expect to:

    • Ensure safe van loading procedures are followed (i.e heavy lifting & manual handling)
    • Always adhere to safe driving practises
    • Complete van checks
    • Ensure food arrives to the customer in the best condition
    • Provide excellent customer service

  • Delivery Driver

    Pay: £33K 

    Job Description

    As a delivery driver, you will regularly be delivering items to customers on a daily basis. This can range from First Mile bags, to coffee boxes for coffee recycling, and also bins for customers to use. This role will also involve collecting used sacks and boxes and returning them to the yard for sorting and distribution.

    Each delivery round operates on a Monday to Friday basis, starting at 7am and lasting 9 hours, With a 45 minute unpaid break on top of this. You will start and finish your round at our operations depot in North Acton

    Requirements

    • Valid UK Driving License with 6 points or less
    • Experience of driving in a city
    • Passion for delivering excellent customer service
    • A strong work ethic
    • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and the customers on your round
    • Happy with some heavy lifting
    • Strong English language skills

  • Long Distance Van Driver

    Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract

    Pay: £12.50-£16.50 per hour

    We are looking for a long-distance van driver (3.5 tonne). This is a temporary role to cover the Christmas/New Year rush up until the end of December.

    • Visit customers’ homes to resolve complaints and deliver or replace missing stock.
    • Inspecting & housekeeping of assigned vehicles before and after customer deliveries, reporting any issues identified and placing on charge after use. Comply with all IKEA health, safety and security rules and requirements.
    • Communicate professionally to all IKEA customers, co-workers and service partners in a confident and friendly manner handling complaints and claims efficiently and with diplomacy.

The position is a high-profile position within the business and your general job functions include the collection and delivery of customer vehicles and when required controlling all elements of the site’s administration.   • Train Movement Apprentice

    Salary: £33,601,

    What you’ll do

    • As a trainee Train Movement Apprentice you’ll be enrolled into the Driver Apprenticeship Level 3 Programme which will lead to a nationally recognised qualification
    • You’ll complete a mix of classroom days, modular assessments and practical training with a Shunter Driver Team Leader
    • It usually takes approx. 6 months to become competent

    Once Competent

    • You will be responsible for ensuring Trains are shunted/driven and prepared for service, as well as communicating with YMC’s, Drivers, Signallers and other agencies/contractors, via radio and the preferred method of face to face.
    • You will correctly set routes for the trains, by pulling points manually, to ensure the trains are positioned in the correct part of the yard


    Driving a train carries great responsibility but with that comes pride and achievement, knowing that an invaluable service has been delivered on time to a ever changing industry.

    Your shifts

    • Rosters vary but are based over a 35-hour week. This will include a mix of early, late, night and weekend shifts
    • Our railway operates 24-hours, so shifts can start as early as 05:00 and end at almost any time of day or night.

    The experience you’ll need

    You don’t need railway experience to do this role. We’re looking for people from all backgrounds to join our team.

    We’re looking for a great mix of talented people with concentration, co-ordination, problem solving, great teamworking skills and a talent for customer service too.

    However, we can only consider you for the role if you:

    • are 20 years or older, as train driving is a safety critical role
    • live within a 40-minute drive of either Slade Green or Grove Park depot
    • Or 20-minutes by public transport (not car or motorbike) from our London Victoria depot.
    • We do not accept applications from candidates for our Kent depot’s who are north of the river at this time
