  • Wheels Driver

    Salary – £4,281 – £4,563

    You will be required to deliver hot meals to clients in their homes using a dedicated vehicle.

    Duties will also require you to carry out normal vehicle checks for an electric vehicle including tyre pressures and cleaning the vehicle inside and out once a week.

    Essential role requirements:

    • Full UK driving licence
    • Ability to read a map

    Previous experience in the service area, providing services to individuals that require additional support is desirable. As it will be required to read a map of the City, having good knowledge of the local area is also desirable.

    All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance.     The Driver Cleaners are responsible for ensuring the vehicles are collected and delivered to places of maintenance and repair and back to their Operational location according to plan in a timely manner with minimum disruption to Operations.

    To ensure vehicles in their location are clean and presented at the highest standards. The Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust operates a Fleet of 925 vehicles, comprising of Accident and Emergency Ambulances, Rapid Response Vehicles, Patient Care Services vehicles and specialist response vehicles.

    Vehicles are maintained and repaired through a combination of in-house workshops and third party suppliers. The in-house workshops are located in South East and North Wales, the vehicles based in Central and West and parts of South East areas are maintained predominantly by third party suppliers.

    All accident repair work is undertaken by approved accident and repair Centres throughout Wales.

    The post holder will be required to carry out the collection and delivery of vehicles and parts to and from Ambulance stations, workshops, suppliers and other locations as required.

    Responsibilities

    Skills

    • Full UK driving licence.

    This is a role which, through its nature, will include an above average amount of manual handling but that also gives the driver a degree of autonomy and the ability to manage their daily working hours and earn a good amount of overtime.

    This is a great opportunity for an individual who is an experienced driver. Your main responsibility will be to support the Parts team with the collection and delivery of Toyota Leeds parts to and from other dealerships and local non-franchise businesses.

    We’re now looking for a Driver’s Mate to play a key role assisting our drivers to deliver goods safely and on time.

    ✅A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

    Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
    Accompanying and assisting driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises
